Cock stuffing, or urethral sounding, involves inserting objects into the urethra. Some people like to do it as part of medical-themed BDSM play; some people do it for solo fun. MadameZ gives you the lowdown to urethral stuffing and how to do it safely.

Is urethral sounding safe?

Well, any A&E staff in your social circle can usually tell you more than one tale about the things that have had to be surgically removed from people going about this kink unwisely – and there's also a fair to middling chance of giving yourself a UTI or damaging your dick, and even your bladder. That said, like many forms of edgier kink play, if you do your research and go carefully; there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to give yourself or a partner a good time with a spot of urethral sounding.

Fans of the practice talk about the intensity of the sensation; the feeling of being penetrated more profoundly than they had ever experienced, and the mindblowing orgasms. I have heard it described as ‘being stimulated from the inside out rather than from the outside in.’

It’s worth noting that this isn't a game everyone can play. Some people find the feeling of having their urethra stimulated painful and ‘too weird’: obviously, if you or a partner experience discomfort and distress, stop straight away. Just like any other type of erotic activity, you need to respect one another’s boundaries. Also, as you’re going to be dealing with a very sensitive and easily-damaged part of the body, steer clear of drink or any other recreational substitutes before starting a sounding session.

You can use a variety of household objects to stimulate the urethra or stuff the cock. I’ve seen mention of hair grips, needles, pencils, birthday candles – and candy canes, which sounds like a particularly bad idea regarding potential contamination and bacteria.

You really shouldn’t stick anything into anyone’s urethra that isn’t entirely smooth and thoroughly sterilised. Anything with an uneven surface could cause little scrapes and cuts, and anything dirty could set up a nasty infection, which could have quite serious consequences. Luckily, you can buy the proper equipment easily and affordably. Even Amazon carries a range of urethral sounding rods and dilators, along with sterile lubricating jelly (yes, you need lube, and it needs to be the sterile variety, not flavoured or scented.)

Cock stuffing tips for beginners

There are also fetish sites which sell sounding kits and penis plugs, and these sites usually have helpful instructions on getting the most out of your new toys, as well. You can buy a single sounding rod or, if you fancy progressing with urethral dilation and stretching, a whole set, and there is plenty of online guidance about how to use them. Here are a few useful tips for those who want to try it.

1. Be careful what you buy
Sounds and plugs should be body safe, which means they should be either silicone or stainless steel. You will sometimes see cock stuffing toys advertised as being brass-plated or suchlike – avoid these. Plating can flake off, and if the flakes are halfway down your urethra or have made it into your bladder, you’re going to be in a world of hurt, and not the enjoyable kind.

2. Keep it clean
Any sounds you are going to use need to be thoroughly cleaned, preferably in an autoclave or another proper sterilizer, before use. Cocks and hands should also have a good wash, and the person doing the inserting should wear surgical gloves: these can add to the Wicked Medic scenario if that’s how you want to play it.

3. Start gently, with plenty of sterile lube
You should never force anything into the urethra, and it shouldn’t hurt: remember, it's a delicate, sensitive body part. For absolute beginners, just teasing your urethra with a clean fingertip can help you decide whether this kink is one that will work for you. If you hate the sensation then fair enough, but it’s useful to know that before you shell out your pocket money on a beautiful set of sounds.

4. Start small. Very small
You’ll still enjoy it, but going for the biggest toy in the toyshop straight away is likely to do you a lot of damage and kill your buzz completely. Time enough to work up to the bigger boys if you want to.

Urethral sounds can be either solid or hollow – and some vibrate, as well. If you are using a solid one for cock stuffing, it’s better to ease it out just before you orgasm. If the sound is hollow, then the jizz will just shoot out of your dick as normal.

Urethral sounding is definitely more RACK (Risk Aware Consensual Kink) than SSC (Safe Sane Consensual) but, if you do it correctly and look after yourself and your playmates, it can be intense, delicious fun!

I started to play with sounding after a post in the forum, a good option to get started is Korean stainless steel chopsticks, they are slim and the first chopstick acts as a guide for the second chopstick, fortunately you can get a set of eight chopsticks. The main advantage is that they are long enough to reach you goal and still have some length to help removal and add additional chopsticks as required.

Have to say the my curiosity is driving this activity, still undecided on the sensation, think I get more pleasure from guiding my partner and watching them become nervous.

As the post shares, clean everything carefully and make share that your not introducing any sugar to starches to your little brother, unwanted bacteria can be very unpleasant.

Still experimenting and already thinking about  introducing some electro-sim later.
