new to the game and looking for advice

Hello everyone!

I'm a bisexual man who likes both aspects of sexual play but hasn't had any real oppertunity to get his feet wet. I'm a shy guy and don't have many friends(none who are openly into kink) and I was looking for advice on how to test the waters. What should I expect of clubs, what are the safety routines etc. I'm dying to break out of my vanilla cage, but don't know how/where to begin! Should I look for a partner first or would you recommend a 'munch' or something? How did you get into it? Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

Hello and welcome :)

We're all different, so your way is likely to be different to other people's way. I'd suggest heading in for socialising first. Get to know some people and get yourself known by a few people too, so you can go into events and you'll already be known.

Usually, munches are best for that. :)

Safety wise, check out the clubs rules, that should give you clues as to what they care about. There should be rules around health and safety but also consent too.

There will be much more than just that, but I'm sure the regulars will fill in more suggestions!

I've wrote a whole bunch of beginners guides on my blog - if you go to my profile, left hand bar "more info" there's a link to it.  Once there, select "back to basics" from the category list - there's things in there about what to expect from munches, events, etc.

Without trying to repeat too many points

- they are not hook up events

- you are not guaranteed any play for attending

- but, as you get known it's a good way to build friends and trust

- a lot of munches are filled with a lot of people who also feel they don't quite fit - so, others are in the same boat

- remember nobody owes you anything, but by partaken, by making friends, building trust, so on - then you have more chance of things happening

I have to agree with the above posters, going to munches and events are by far the best ways to meet people. They are usually very friendly and very welcoming to newbies. As stated above nothing is guaranteed but if nothing else you will meet other kink friendly people
