eyemblacksheep I don't agree that switches are that rare. If we go back a bit there was a time when people were expected to be one or the other - so there'd often be individuals who were seen in one role in public and another in private.
But also. There are a number of ladies I know who switch who don't make it Read more… clear that they switch in order to minimise some of the stupid contact from guys. I also know both men and women who switch - who - perhaps have a required reputation to be seen in one role, but enjoy the other in a private relationship.
I do actually think a lot of people do approach the kink scene with an idea - because perhaps they've seen/read some form of erotica (be it full blown porn, to any form of book or film with kink element) and they see themselves in one role or another.

So i think most people coming from Vanilla land are switches because society tells us equality is sharing responsability and taking turns.. but i think over time there are less and less switches as you get deeper and deeper into BDSM.
So no, its not boring.. its rare, and probably rough to know which head space to be in
