I try to find good inspiration from watching other couples act out scenes to build up my repertoire, but it Read more…seems like everything out there is just bdsm themed porn, with a couple of exceptions, and not really great for learning. Where should I / do you look for video or text descriptions of this stuff to borrow from?

Clip stores and the morally corrupt Tube sites tend to focus on effectively selling porn rather than education. While there are educational clips amongst them (I've been in some!) they can be very difficult to find.
YouTube does have a Read more… great deal of clips that are designed to be educational - but these are of course a little limited due to content restrictions and I've also found there is a bit of a "mixed bag" in terms of quality.

One thing I do often say though is to try to get info from more than one source. If, for example, you learn from someone who plays dangerously - then you will learn dangerous habits - if you also learn from someone else it can help you get a better picture.
I'm aware of an argument in a club recently where a dungeon monitor told someone off for striking their sub in the kidneys - "that's how we play at home" - "Well, that's dangerous - it's not how you play here - if you want to take the risk in your own home then, go ahead, but if you do it here then not only are we liable - but it sets a bad example to others who are watching you"
