New to BDSM and am wanting to get into rope play where do I start?

[jo****]

Hello I am a 37yr male in Gainesville Florida & I am wanting to get into rope play but I don’t know where to start. I don’t have a partner and I can’t seem to find any classes or organized events in my area. Does anyone experience this and where should I be looking?

Look on FetLife to see if there is a rope studio in your area. Get yourself some shibari rope from Etsy.

If you don't have a rope studio or rope classes at a local dungeon, then look at Rory's Brainworks on YouTube, and the websites Rope365 and TheDuchy.

I signed up for some online Shibari seminars on Fetlife and really liked them. I highly recommend you start with self tying first. You should know how it feels before you tie someone else.

Also most seminars will require it but make sure you have safety scissors on hand in case something goes poorly.

Take a look at TheDuchyCom free tutorial 101. And don't skip the parts on safety.

in addition to the above

if there really are no rope workshops, ***r groups, etc.   practice self ties.

In Jacksonville (I know it's a little drive for you, but the are awesome) KinbakuCardinale on fetlife. They have classes regularly. You can dm me if you need help finding it

I suggest searching on fetlife. Events and classes are posted. You won’t find most of these posts on the net as they are for fetlife postings and many are also private events.

It really helps to have a partner, or try a big doll. I'd love to get into polyamory but first I need one girlfriend

Thanks all the help.

You have to do your research like use chatgpt or deepseak, but face to face lessons are expensive. I say do the research on it first, then real-life lessons.
