Are gym bros and nerds attracted to plus sized women?

I came across someone yesterday who had an interesting viewpoint, and it gave me food for thought, so I thought I’d bring the topic here. 
 

She is of the opinion that as a big girly/fat chick/plus size woman (or however you identify), the people that she seems to attract the most are gym bros, gamers, nerds and bi alt goth girls. 
 

As a chunky monkey myself, I can say that I’ve not really seen this. Admittedly, my partner is a geek and not a chunky guy, but on the whole I wouldn’t say I’ve had the same experience as her….I wish I did! 🤣

So, what I’m asking is, what are your experiences? Are you a gym bro into a plus size woman? Or a nerd/geek/gamer with a preference for fat girls? Or even a bi/alt woman into other women with more than a bit of junk in her trunk?

I get a lot of looks & attention from the ug & gug corner of the gym but Im not sure if its in appreciation of what Im lifting/pressing as a woman, Im a chunky too but I train for me not their validation or to hook up & as such I tend to give off the fk off vibe whilst training so dont really notice but I have been told I've been checked out so maybe theres some truth in it

Well being a bigger girl I've not actually picked up guys at the gym. But I would have to say I've had my fair share of fit trim athletic nice body guys. There are a lot of them out there that are into bigger girls. For whatever reason. If they don't like what they see they can move on. I have no body shame. My kinks are just as fun as the skinny girls. Don't let no one rain on your parade.

It's just personal taste tbh, i am a huge gamer at competitive levels and nerd, i also train and have a sixpack at times but i'm not the gym bro type at all.

Plus sized aren't my thing at all, it's just a personal thing regardless of everything else

I’m in pretty good shape and a nerd to the bone. I’m attracted to bigger women. I don’t want this to sound bad in any way, but they seem more relatable to me as ordinary people. I realize “ordinary” is subjective and based on perspective, just my 2 cents based on life observations. No I’m not calling bigger women more promiscuous or sexually available either.

As an ass man, big girls just have them in greater abundance and pleasing (to my eye) proportions, so there is that as well. But.. I imagine preference for big or thin is really based on opinion and highly subjective factors much like the ones I have described, no matter who ya are.

Exactly. It doesn't foster an inclusive spirit, but rather a desired omission and disregard of certain viewpoints engineered for positive responses. Additionally, the association of characteristics with those who don't like 'fat women' i.e. 'fat shaming', 'insults' etc ***ts a heavily biased viewpoint rather than something that's open for discussion. An echo chamber, essentially. I was going to answer the question honestly until I saw the end.

There is a difference between fat, plus, big, chunky and thicc. Also thicc, thiccer and thiccest. Also thiccer than a bowl of oatmeal. They all have their special qualities. And as some other have mentioned, it is personal preference. Me personally? If you have an athletic spirit carrying your body in that special way... That is the most attractive. Nothing sadder than a huge booty with weak legs. Moral of the story: Just move it baddie <3

I would say as a guy who works out a lot and has muscle mass and loves nerdy stuff, I can only speak for myself... I appreciate that most women have a higher fat % then men and thats not a bad thing for health. Also, it helps with the aesthetic for the female curves. I love curves and it's not always the case that curves = obese. I know from my own fitness journey that to get ripped and lean requires a lot of diet and nutrition prep and cutting, and quite frankly is a shit time. When I eat to maintain I have bulk, I am tree trunk shape rather than v shape and that is part of strength. You need a thick core to lift heavy, especially above your head, hence why strongmen all have that barrel shape.

Anywho... long story short, curves are attractive and to have curves requires a proportion of bodyfat. Not to say that slim isn't attractive, but it's not a zero-sum game.

Depends what you mean by plus size, and what the person actually looks like. You can be larger and look good, be fit and proportional, have good skin and hair and take care of yourself. You can also be larger and look bad, be sloppy and not proportional, have bad, stretched and saggy skin and body parts.

It’s not like fat women are all the same, the same way gym bros are not all the same. Some take care of themselves, have good genetics and look good even if they are bigger, some do not take care of themselves, have bad genetics and look unattractive no matter what they do.

You can be attractive or unattractive no matter your weight. But if you are overweight, the chances you are unattractive in general to most people is higher than if you are not, because it usually means you have an unhealthy lifestyle and do not take care of yourself.
