Should you be ashamed to be a furry?

Recommended Posts

I don't see why you should be ashamed. I wasn't aware they received hate. I've only seen positive support in the kink community. That said, lots of vanilla people hate on things they don't understand or think are strange. Just be yourself and if it's consensual then it's no one else's business.
I'm a furry and I'm not ashamed of that. I actually really enjoy drawing anthro art including porn pieces, I find ***s are a lot more interesting to draw then people.
But yes there is a lot of hate from people who don't understand and think because of shows like ncis that it's just a sex thing which it isn't
I love furrys idk y they hate so much. Forget them continue the fun 😜 hmu

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 'furry'?

Somebody who has an interest in Anthropomorphic ***s, ***s with human characteristics think most Disney movies (lion king, Zootopia ect) of course you can like those things and not consider yourself a furry.
we also tend to create ourselves a "fursona" which is an original character that is an anthro *** that we use to represent ourselves online for example mine is a white wolf with black on gray stripes and blue eyes called Monochrome.

Some have a fursuit which is a custom made mascot costume of their fursona.

Honestly it's a lot of fun 😊

Oh my goodness, this sounds adorable, I want to know about all the Curries😍😍😍

If you're into it, don't worry about the opinion of others. I enjoy crossdressing and get plenty of hate for it, but I don't care.

Thanks for all the support it's nice to find actual people online  lol

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Now, that is to assume you don't have a shame/*** kink, of course. If that is your thing, then it's perfectly acceptable. But for someone else to shame you, that's not okay. Is it a social taboo? Yes, it's not something that is really accepted under social norms for whatever reason. 🤷 That doesn't make it right to shame others for it either and no one should have to hide it behind closed doors, assuming you're not committing blatantly sexual acts in public where it's unacceptable, like local parks during regular operating times. But I do not think it's something anyone should be ashamed of or treated differently for. However, the other aspect of that falls under the Therian title and it has created some social issues that I don't believe are appropriate. But again, I don't speak out against it either, regardless of my personal opinion. I'm by no means judgemental to others, but there are some things that I do question under the Therian community. Like how it could be socially acceptable to publicly use a litter box. That would require certain parameters that many people may not be comfortable with and making anyone do something they aren't comfortable with isn't acceptable, like scooping a used litter box. Not saying it can't be done, just that expecting it to be a social norm makes me wonder about certain individuals. But personally, I would love to see more acceptance of the furry community. I have seen some really well made characters that are honestly really awesome. They can be a true work of art in my opinion.

I would not say they deserve hate per se or should be ahamed. My experiences with them were just very bad in most cases on a personal level. I play a lot of pen&Paper and never had issues with other players. Then I played a pen&Paper game, where you play as ***s in a medieval fantasy world, who got conciousness. Now they have build a little society hidden from humans. I like the universe, because it is written in a funny way and the adventures use the very unique setting for cool stories. Like in one adventure you get hired by a ghost to scare new people out of his house including fe ar mechanics in a house build like a sandbox with maps, descriptions and anything. It is cool and the people I DMd for enjoyed it, too. The groups, whonplay on a regular basis, I got into were all 95% furries and so creepy I had to leave - as the other non-furry did :/ Like one dude played a cat prostitute and roled  peruasion against me... then he sent me drawings of his character even after I told him 3 times I don't want to do dirty talk with them. If we did not play online I would have probably punched him at some point.

I'm a closeted furry. And I think I'm more scared of it rather then ashamed. I don't talk about it with others or dress like a furry in public. I keep that side of my life to myself mostly because I acknowledge that there is a lot of people who want nothing to do with it and I respect that. I would say from my experience as a furry I'm ashamed that the community has a bad name, and I'm scared that others will accosted me with those that they have had a bad experience with

Well... I don't see anything wrong with being a furry per se. I love how joyfull people react when I walk around in my plate armour or Hogwarts robes.... If you want to run around in a mascot costume making people smile, i'd say "go for it". I can also respect the skill and effort that you need to build a fursuit. I also saw some furry comics that were quite nice.

If someone outs themself as a furry it is a red flag for me, because every single one I know (about 10) has severe mental issues... My worst encounter was a pen&paper group for a system that lets you play as cats, dogs and so on with a concious in a classic fantasy world, where they go on adventures when dwarfs, elfes and humans go to bed... I love this game because the authors used the unique setting for wonderfull official adventures, that offer great plots and hilarious moments, that only work in this specific setting. Turned out everyone except me and another guy (the other one that wasn't nuts) were furries. The worst freak build basically a cat prostitute not only rolling to seduce my character again and again and basically looting him by demanding payment each time, but also wanted to roleplay it out and sending me commisioned artwork of his cat in explicit poses. I said several times he made me unconfortable out of character and the freak went on ignoring it. Except for the other non-furry guy everyone thought this is ok to play like this. I really wanted to play this system, so i made a new character. A castrated asexual fat Garfield-type cat. Now he started to attack my character violently trying to *** him to do what he wants. Pretty much everything they told about their personal live was scary, too. I just know 2 types of players for this game: terrible human beings, who happen to be furry, and players, who quit after one game saying the story was great and the setting fun, but they prefer playing more classic settings. Long story short. I don't play it anymore and avoid furries.
