I can’t say what I wanna say
I can’t do what I wanna do
I can’t go where I wanna go
I can’t be who I want to be
I can’t live the life I wanna live
Because I choose you over me
I choose your happiness
Your joy
Your safety
Your words
Your needs
Your being
Your LIFE
Over my own.
And don’t try to tell me to “ do for myself”
Because you just don’t see
That I have given of myself for so xxxx long
That I don’t even know WHAT about me.

Can you imagine…
Losing yourself… having no idea
Who you are
What you are
Where you are
Looking at yourself in a mirror
And reducing yourself to your utility
To put yourself in the same category as
Spoon
Doorknob
Key
Towel
Hair tie
Lamp
Doormat
And to know nothing else
Because hey, what else is there
