Voice messages in chat

I tried to send a voice message but it didn’t seem to work. I pressed the microphone and it changed to a keyboard with a message next to it that said hold to talk. I tried holding down that message, as well as tried holding down the microphone button, but it didn’t work. What am I doing wrong?

Press the mic icon.  Then press and hold where it says "Hold to talk".  Release when you have finished your message.

Different process on the website version but I assumed you wanted the app method as you mentioned "Hold to talk"

It’s really wonky. Sometimes it works and sometimes it’s doesn’t. Honestly it really is hit or miss. You can record the voice notes separately with apps on your phone then attach it to the chat like you send a photo.

The support isn’t very good . Have been thru hell and back cuz the kids that are supposed to know how to fix it when it breaks don’t seem to know enough to fix it

If the other person has “accept voice messages” toggled off like I do, it may not go..,
