The Demon

[mi****]

Society shuts down true feelings
Leaving nothing but a clone
A silent pretty doll was all I could be
Tight red ribbon on my throat to hide where I’d bleed

A whisper, a spark the tiniest of things
Pushed into my lungs so I could breathe
A sinister presence that reawakened my soul
This isn’t where you belong, dear heart, it’s time to break free

That demon reached out for me
And through shattered pieces I remembered
Desire, passion, need, lust
Devoid of restraint or inhibition, only satiating our primal instincts

Passing over my captors they scream
I made you perfect, how can you throw me to the flames
Smiling, I whisper, I didn’t don’t you see
The match was already lit but I burned the world for him

Those gates I stepped though my demon disappeared
No longer dancing with me in this inferno
What now they laughed it was all just a dream
You are alone so just return to me

But this they’ll never understand
This is my playground, my dungeon, my home
My body and mind crave all of these original sins
For I’m no longer a broken doll on the shelf but a goddess forged in Hell
