Kink friendly night at a bar

Recommended Posts

Question for everyone

I own a bar on Devon’s coast, I want to organise a kink friendly night, perhaps once a month, however I haven’t been to enough to know exactly what people expect.

So the question, what sort of set up do you think is required/preferred

Thanks in advance to anyone that answers

It all depends on what you want to include.
A way to make it feel kinky is to have a dress code. Either minimum black or just go for fetish-clothes; Leather, plastic, latex or similar. If possible you could add some stations like a flogging station or two or like a cross or a wooden horse (or what they're called). Reduce the lighting. Then when you've had your first event yo could open a poll and ask for feedback. Improve it over time. Don't aim for perfection on first try, it's hard and make it harder to even succeed. Good luck 🤞🙂

ok, so if you own the bar then you are 100% liable for anything that happens.

So what you offer/allow/etc is entirely within your own risk appetite - considering you put your license on the line

add in, if you don't have an adult entertainment license you are permitted to run 11 per year, with over a month apart - so unless you get the relevant license then you cannot run monthly if you are permitting play/nudity/etc

Things like munches which are social and people chat are fine, don't need permission for that - but anything further, like, yeah - even if you outsource to another promoter, it is you liable for anything

Yeah. I’d recommend finding a local group on FetLife and see if they need a venue.

Depends what you mean by "kink friendly" - if you're talking about a play party/event then everything Eyem said above applies. You'll need a licence, insurance and more to cover it.
.
Your better bet would be to set up a Munch with no play - where people can come to network and socialise with other kinksters.
.
If you do set something up, and are going to advertise it here, I'd also recommend changing your location to where your bar is - it currently shows Dumfries And Galloway which is miles from Devon and may put people off attending.

as some furthers

there are always people in the community who are looking for kink friendly premises, and most of the responsible ones will also want to vet based on suitability - it also would be fairly rude and disruptive to set something up which treads on the toes of the existing community rather than compliment it.

It might be worth actually researching what already exists in your area, and seeking people out and finding out what is missing and how you could compliment it.

In essence - if you want to do something for/with the community you need to find/partake first - otherwise you're not seeking community, you're seeking customers.

Go to Fetlife and start a munch. Make it a social, not "kink" and let the community come to you. In time peopel will ask for more, and if you have suitable environment, then consider the options for more private events.

There's already munches set up in south Devon, go to one and talk to the people there.

Thank you all for the great feedback, I really appreciate it and will take it all to heart
