My wings would be dark, a bit, tattered and worn, but also extremely soft.

What an interesting question…. Firstly I like your answer very cool! Mine though I think would look like thin sheets of obsidian, strong and sharp, when they move they catch the light and channel it into the dragonfly like support structure of each wing causing the framework to shimmer with little sparks of gold and red, each time they flutter they crackle from the stored up light energy, and they double as shielding during battle (that’s why they had to be obsidian)

Mine would be monarch butterfly wings. Butterflies are revered in my family. They represent the souls that passed. There's a family lore that after my grandpa passed, a black butterfly appeared. It was in my aunt's car where both my aunt & my mom cried about how they could afford his burial & funeral. It appeared right in front of them, all of the windows were closed. The fan of the car was off, it was like (as they said) appeared out of nowhere.

The butterfly fluttered between them for a moment before it landed on each of their shoulders. They said they felt a sense of calm & comfort like everything was gonna be okay. Before the butterfly landed back onto the dashboard & disappeared right in front of them. Later during the wake, another black butterfly appeared while I was in the living room, again the doors were closed, the windows were also closed & it was like it appeared out of nowhere. Then it landed on my grandpa's favorite place on my grandma's couch & it disappeared in front of me.

My grandma also appeared as a butterfly. When she passed away, a white butterfly appeared in her house. Same instances. The same way it disappeared. When I went to the hospital for my mom, another butterfly landed on me & for a moment I swear I heard my grandma's voice.

When I pass, I know that I cannot choose what I come back as. I could be an ant, a fish or a spider. But if there's a small chance that I could, I'm coming back as a Monarch butterfly. Since they're my favorite kind of butterfly.
