Fair, but knowing it feels too small and knowing you can just buy a wider one are two different things 🙂‍↕️. I felt it for years and assumed that was normal and everyone put up with it. A few people in here said the same, one said she was 30. That's a sex ed gap more than people being slow.

Condoms should feel tight.  If they don't feel tight, they're too big, so again comes at a risk of breaking or slipping

Obviously if it feels uncomfortable then trying a size up is a good idea.  But one that is too tight isn't going to do you any harm and apparently some people prefer it. There is a lot of give in the latex (hence the old tricks of putting one over your head, and they slip over feet quite well for foot-fisting)

I guess also to be aware a little.  Firstly there is a problem with men sometimes complaining about it being tight/uncomfortable as a way to do bareback.  If it's uncomfortable then try the next size up - but if that doesn't feel tight, then the first one was closer to being right

Second off. There is the whole ego and bravado thing - and like, if you're too fragile to wear "normal" than maybe sex isn't for you.  Cos again, if you end up with a size too big there's more risk to the other person (and, arguably yourself) than one too small.

I always used to struggle to find condoms to fit my girth (not a boast, just a fact.)
Most that did were designed for guys with huge length as well as girth (10”+), so they didn’t provide much ‘feel’.

Then I discovered a company that makes custom fit condoms.
I’ll not post details here, and get myself on a timeout, but if anyone wants to contact me via DM, I’m happy to discuss.

Stretching and fitting aren't the same thing though. A condom going over a watermelon just proves it stretches. It doesn't tell you anything about wearing one for 30 plus minutes.

There's an actual study on this, Crosby et al, Sexually Transmitted Infections, 2010. 436 men. Almost half said they'd used a badly fitting condom in the past 3 months, and those guys reported more breakage, more slipping, more irritation, more losing their erection, and were twice as likely to take the condom off before sex was over. That last one is the real problem. Bad fit usually doesn't end with a burst condom, it ends with no condom.

the only kinda problem with that study is while it cites "poor fitting" it doesn't specify too big (which is more likely to cause slippage, burst, and loss of erection) than too small (which some may find irritating)

Being comfortable is important - but, yeah, that also should be at the sense of vanity.  

Equally if you are planning on prolonged use - condoms are only really supposed to be used for about 20-30 minutes, so should be changed anyway
