It can be done accidentally as you are swiping through profiles, so you may have inadvertently gifted without realising. You will be able to get the icons back as they return to their original hiding place and you just head back there and recollect.  So keeping a record of where you found them comes in handy.

They are listed in order of. Rows of 4 so count them and if it’s number 6 you are missing there will be a blank spot in the second row after #5 and before 7&8. I hope that make sense.
