The things we only admit after Midnight

Recommended Posts

Most people don’t hide their fantasies because they’re ashamed of them.

They hide them because they’re afraid of what happens after they are understood.

A fantasy can survive judgment.

What’s harder is the moment someone looks at you and says:

“I get it.”

Because now there’s no joke to hide behind. No performance. No polite version of yourself.

Just recognition.

I’m increasingly convinced that desire is less about finding someone who wants the same things,

and more about finding someone in front of whom you don’t need to translate yourself.

That’s rarer than sex.

And probably more intimate.

So here’s my first question:

What’s something about desire you understood embarrassingly late?

Give me the answer you’d normally save for after midnight.

I 100% agree. Everytime I start to feel understood by a dom, I get scared because I know it’s going to get real, and I know I’m about to be real ***. But at the same time, that’s what I want more than anything

Can't be scared of that sb11 they probably love you more for it

You can be real with somebody and show who you really are. cherish that person

SB_11 I feel the exact same way. I get to the brink of what I've always dreamt of and then panic.

Annie I always thought it was just a me thing, it’s so reassuring to hear that I’m not alone in this!

Past relationship traumas no joke makes it hard to trust and be *** it's bullshit

That desire and connection are not the same thing, but when you have both, it’s life altering. When someone actually sees you, that connection makes you more *** because now you are fully exposed. You’re naked in a way that goes beyond physical and when someone sees you like that and still desires you, that’s when the heart gets involved.

sb11_08, That tension is probably the whole thing, isn’t it? Wanting to be seen that clearly, then realizing being seen means there’s nowhere left to hide. The interesting part is what makes someone feel safe enough to stay instead of running.

Exactly Annie. Sometimes the fantasy feels safest while it’s still hypothetical. The moment someone might actually take you seriously, your brain suddenly remembers there are consequences. I’m curious what usually makes you step back at that brink.
