Romanticism in bdsm

Recommended Posts

What if one of the deepest forms of romance is the one that looks the least like it?

A Dominant entrusted with someone’s vulnerability, a submissive who freely chooses whom to surrender their power to. Two people meeting in a space where trust, desire, and control intertwine.

Maybe romance isn’t always about gentle touches and sweet words. Sometimes, it’s about finding someone you can truly let go with, knowing you’ll be understood and respected.

Do you think a D/s dynamic can hold a form of romance that’s even deeper than conventional romance?

I think so, at least to an extent, because there’s a lot of trust and vulnerability. But I think it’s a different type of romance, I still think that usual forms of romance can take place in those relationships. Like flowers, making a playlist, that kind of thing.

I think the fact that two people can be genuinely honest about their fantasies and desires, and fully accept each other without shame or judgment, is already a form of love that feels deeper and more real.

The first thing I thought of when I read the beginning part is a physical manifestation…. interlocking hands while plowing them. 😇 why doees that feel so much more romantic than kissing ?

Exactly! It’s the sheer contrast for me. Getting a gentle little cheek caress right in the middle of absolute chaos is the ultimate reminder of total trust. It's a very specific brand of 'aggressive wholesomeness' that vanilla romance just doesn't have.
