The Rule of Three: When Does Curiosity Become Kink?

Recommended Posts

Glitchcore: the flaw in the flow.

Not science. Not protocol. Just a piece of code He has been turning over in His head.

Glitch calls it the Rule of Three.

Think of the first cigarette. The first kiss. The first experience. The first taste of something new enough that memory has nothing against which to measure it.

The first time is exploration, the defloration.

Imagination meets reality.

There may be pleasure. Disappointment. Nervousness. Adrenaline. Awkwardness.

Or that unexpected little discovery:

Apparently... that does something.

But the first pleasure has no measure.

There was no before.

One: Explore

A kink cacther the imagination.

Perhaps it has lived in fantasy for years. Perhaps someone introduces it. Perhaps it appears accidentally and awakens something that did not have a name yesterday. Or perhaps it’s much darker, experienced in trauma, evolved into kink triggers.

Then curiosity asks:

What would that actually feel like?

So the door opens.

Not necessarily because it is already wanted.

Because one wants to know, to explore.

Two: Experiment

The second time is different.

The innocence of uncertainty is gone.

Now the mind has a reference point.

It remembers the sensation. The embarrassment. The ***. The pleasure. The strange little detail that lingered afterward.

Returning is no longer pure discovery.

This time curiosity asks:

One knows what to expect.

Does one know how to enjoy it?

Three: Decide

By the third encounter, novelty has begun surrendering its disguise.

Perhaps the attraction was never really the kink.

Perhaps it was the forbiddenness.

The person.

The adrenaline.

The novelty.

Or perhaps something quieter has happened.

The unfamiliar has become familiar...

and the desire remains.

Then the question changes from:

What is this?

to:

Is this part of oneself?

That is Glitch's Rule of Three:

Explore. Experiment. Decide.

There is, however, an important clause.

It does not mean everything deserves three attempts.

A hard No discovered during the first owes curiosity no second experiment.

Consent does not operate on a three-strike policy.

The Rule continues only while curiosity does.

And that leaves Glitch wondering about something considerably more interesting than another list of everyone's kinks.

So, kinksters of the forum...

When did kink first whisper?

Was there a fantasy, image, story, person, experience, or forbidden little thought that first opened the door?

What was the first kink actually explored?

Did reality resemble the fantasy?

Has one ever disliked something the first time, returned willingly, and discovered that the reaction changed?

Or perhaps the opposite:

Something intoxicating on first encounter that lost its magic once novelty surrendered?

Was there ever a moment when curiosity stopped feeling like something being explored...

and began feeling like something that belonged?

And finally:

Does the Rule of Three survive contact with experience?

Explore → Experiment → Decide.

Or does desire refuse to behave quite so neatly?

Glitch suspects beautiful contradictions in the comments, considerably more interesting than His code.
