I don't really have a specific book or movie. What I do have are "Movie Moments" where a moment happens and that moment can be described as something that would happen in a film, but it's just real life. Like Chris Farley, as Tommy Boy, Walking into a door. I have done that so much!

Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer. Spent my 20s and part 30s living a similar life. Even though the story doesn't end well i highly recommend you read it, and it inspires you to get your backpack out and just explore.
