The room sat high within a Gothic stone tower, its arched windows framing a distant sweep of mountains beneath the glow of a full moon. Silver light pierced the ancient glass, falling in pale ribbons across the chamber’s cold obsidian floor. The air was still reverent, almost as if the castle itself were holding its breath.
Her bare feet kissed the chill of the stone with each hesitant step, a soft reminder of how exposed she was here. Behind her, the heavy oak door closed with a slow, deliberate thud that echoed through the chamber like a promise she could no longer escape. In the center of the room, illuminated by moonlight and shadow, a single high-backed chair awaited and in it, he sat.
He didn’t speak. He didn’t need to. His gaze met hers, steady and unyielding, and in that silent command, her heartbeat quickened. Every inch of her remembered why she had come and what she was here to give. The weight of his presence pressed against her skin, stripping away every last pretense until all that remained was the ache blooming deep inside her chest.
The night beyond the glass stretched endless and dark, but in this room, beneath his watchful eyes, she felt small… cherished… and deliciously undone
