Looking for Story advice reality

Writing a story and looking for actual advice on making it realistic rather than relying on fake internet stories. If you think you can help a (mostly) non-kink guy write a believable story featuring some BDSM, please let me know. I know there's a lot of misconceptions out there - I've found several of my own as I've done the research - and want to make sure I do the relationship in the story justice, rather than relying on unrealistic and probably untrue preconceptions and expectations.

Not sure what exactly you want the community here to volunteer for. We've done a lot of BDSM...OUR BDSM...surely not running the entirety of BDSM. You could be writing a story about a male dominating a female with whips and chains and *********** with sex, or two females engaging in fireplay and cupping with no sex at all...or millions of variations. Are you writing something that you want edited? Do you want to hear someone else's story you'd then incorporate in your work? Fifty shades is an example of something that could happen, probably never happened, and definitely shouldn't happen...but it's popular as a fiction piece. Are you trying to write non-fiction? Not knowing anything else, just write what BDSM is in your mind, then ask others to comment on whether it's safe, or practical, or realistic, etc...when youre done. Unless you have a better idea of what youre looking for.

ChromeStarz - sorry it's taken so long to reply, my family had some issues and I stepped away for a bit. What I'm looking for is - when I write a scene with ... mainly dominant/submission, some bondage ... I'm hoping to get some advice as to "No - that's complete crap" to "Yes, that's completely believable" and anything in between. Basically, that last bit - I write what I think BDSM is ... and someone reads it and says "Yeah, I think that could work". I have no problems taking criticism - including "Nope, not believable at all" as long as the criticism is meant to improve, not demean.

the best way to make it realistic/believable is to write from experience.
