Collars

Symbolic and physical reminder of ownership and loyalty towards your dominant. By him giving you the collar and you accepting and wearing it creates a sense that the dynamic is solid and strong. There can be collars during scenes and a symbol that's less obvious like a bracelet worn everyday. It's as powerful as you let it be. You, your Dom and the dynamic give it definition.
It depends on your reasoning for the collar. It can be devotion and commitment. Like a wedding ring I suppose.
It of course has a bdsm/sexual element sometimes too.
But a collar will represent different things to each person who has one
To me, it’s symbolic. It signifies submission and relinquishing of will. It says “I’m owned and cared for.” IMO
A collar (bracelet, necklace, ring, keychain, etc, doesn't have to be an actual collar) is a special worn or carried item that two people exchange (both can exchange items (dual collar) or the gift and the acceptance to wear the gift might be the exchange) to show they care about each other and want to stay close. The color or symbol or words may add to what collaring means to them. Wearing or holding the item reminds both that they are important to one another. It doesn’t mean one person owns the other without consent. It shows that they both choose each other and want to be supportive and loyal. The item 'collar' is like a little symbol that says, “We are on the same team, and our dynamic matters.”

It is a symbol of ownership, loyalty and devotion to your Dominant. I often compare it to a wedding band. Granted the symbol is what you truly make of it as with any other symbol. It should not be accepted by the sub, nor offered by the Dom in haste. It is a serious symbol of your commitment to one another.
I'm a single submissive, but wear a gold necklace with a padlock.... For me, it's a subtle expression of who I am sexually.... When I've been owned, it's symbolism changes....
It's a symbol of ownership. Meaning you belong to someone and are kept
It’s a traditional symbol of the dynamic. Like a wedding ring to marriage. There is no point except what you make it. My submissive is 24/7. She has a public collar & and a session collar. She also has a wedding ring & collar. They are both sacred and special for different reasons. The collar is my promise to care and protect and her promise to submit & serve.
A physical representation of a bond. Like a ring only it can be a lot more functional.
A full time collar is a symbol of the relationship similar to a wedding ring. It also serves to remind the sub of her status and the relationship during ordinary activities. A discrete collar can do this without anyone else being the wiser.
It's a representation of bond, communication, and commitment between Dom and sub. Im training a new sub now and she just earned her collar. Think of it like a ring, a symbol, but in a different light.
She's excited to wear her public collar (looks close to a necklace but it's discreetly locked) because it symbolises she's mine 24/7.
It does many things within the dynamic.

It shows that the sub is owned, in a committed relationship, has a Dom/Master. It also is used to remind the sub who they belong to & keep them in the submissive mindset.

Some will give it the same meaning as a wedding ring
Collars are just fun imo. God i love wearing a collar. To me, its my challenge to a new potential dom to see if they can chain me. If they can, then they are worthy if being my dom.
You can have a play or dynamic collar. A dynamic collar means you are “owned” by that dominant. It means a lot, it’s basically like getting married. A play collar is something that people use just for fun, and a non serious way. Like pick up play. Or maybe domestic service.
Um 😅 for me my collar allows me to lock in to a sense of safety so i can do things normally i would be in my head about

Yes exactly I have a silver necklace with a sheep on as my everyday collar. The sheep is a joke between master and myself.

Although I do have a collar an lead for play time.

Master didnt collar me till we had been togther a year.

Depends on the person really, naturally for some its just a style thing and doesn’t mean much

For others its a symbol of dedication think like a wedding ring

For some its a symbol of control, “when my sub has their collar on they cant say no to me”

Different strokes for different folks
