What stays on skin

I’ve been thinking about a sentence for a long time

“As if the stars were other people’s eyes on my skin.”

But I don’t see it as being watched.
I see it as a mark.
A way to turn something intangible into something permanent
Not decoration ,definition.

Not a single tattoo, but fragments
Constellations I choose to place, to control, to make part of me.

I’m curious…

what marks do you choose to carry on your body, and why?

Not for aesthetics.
For meaning, identity, control.
