Writing a Story

It's a dark fantasy novel with depth and a richly built world. Are there any published writers out there that can offer advice on whether I should include erotica/sex scenes, and what is acceptable for depth of kinks?

The answer is yes and as much/little as you like. Wonder woman was created cause a dude loved femdom

I'm hesitant to offend the wrong audience though, and what would a potential publisher consider too far in kinks as long as it remains consensual and driven by the story.

I'm not a published author, but you might want to take a look at Readict and other cell phone apps for reading fiction; there are a lot of stories on those apps that have such content. At least one author on Readict has published physical books thru Amazon. Also, I seem to recall that there are some imprints (within some well known publishers) that focus on erotica and other genres that are not mainstream.

I appreciate the insight. I'm not looking to get published obscurely or online-only, I'd like to aim for a physical book. The amount of stuff I've written down in a rough outline for the last two weeks already spans more than one book, I'm worried I might get started and have a whole series on my hands. Heh.

You can self publish on Amazon and literally write whatever you want. My friend exclusively reads "sexy books" one of the more famous ones is called Minotaur Milking Farm or something like that. Do yourself a favor and look it up. And then think of that every time you wonder if you're going "too far".đź’€

Again, I'm not looking to be self published or, "online only".
