Experience in rope tying

Recommended Posts

Hello! I’m new to rope tying and was wondering if anyone had any tips on tying on someone who is plus sized? I want it to be safe and pa1nless for them as much as possible (they’re not into ***). We haven’t tried anything yet just been exploring and I’ve just been practicing tying the rope itself. Any advice welcome and tia!

For the first few times, I don’t recommend tying anyone to objects like poles or bed frames. If you restrict their body from moving at all and you make the ropes tight, they can panic or feel trapped. And if you’re not careful, the tight knots could cut off some circulation to their limbs. The solution would either be to only restrain one half of their body (like both legs or both arms), or tie their body to other parts of their body! That way (they can adjust as they see fit). Lastly, look into breast harnesses! You can tie ropes on someone without having to restrain them! A breast harnesses is just like tying a bra, it looks super sexy while involving ropes, and still gives you experience tying knots!

Best of luck in the journey, it’s a fun one!! The most important thing is trust. As long as you communicate, the rest will figure itself out :)

Visit a shibari class, it’s essential to learn about safety from a pro. YT has some beginner videos too✌️

Dont start with suspension, what I would do is a karada harnest first and you could use another rope to tie un arms in her back or front. You can use the second rope to connect with the harnest.

Thank you for the advice! I was going to try just upper body first. So I will def look into the breast harness!

I have been watching Lazarus Redmayne on YT for a bit now that was recommended by someone who’s prolly at the intermediate level I would say. I’ve done one Shibari class at a festival many years ago. Unfortunately I have not been able to find anything in my area though
