First Kiss Part 2

Recommended Posts

It happens in the quiet space
between almost and yes—
a pause where the air thickens,
where your eyes drop to my mouth
and something unspoken tilts.
Closer.
The first brush is barely there,
soft as a question,
warm as held breath.
Then the second,
firmer,
lips catching,
the soft give of yours under mine.
A small sound escapes you.
I feel it more than hear it—
that tiny surrender—
and everything shifts.
Your hand finds my jaw.
Mine slides to the back of your neck.
The kiss deepens by degrees,
slow and searching,
until the world narrows
to the heat of your mouth,
the taste of first wanting,
the way your lips part
just enough
to let me in.
When we finally pull back,
breathing the same air,
nothing is the same.
Something new has been written
in the space between us—
soft, irreversible,
and already hungry for more.
