Consideration for Expansion of DD/LG Definitions

I was chatting with a partner recently, and we discussed how broad DD/LG by definition can be.

Ultimately, while every dynamic, and every DD/LG dynamic is different, I think it breaks down to often, DD providing the needs of the LG. The way that they go about the dynamic would not properly fall under the DD/LG umbrella, and where grey exists imo. While everyone individually can define what the title means to them, I think there is an opportunity to clarify and provide nuance into expectations that would be helpful to know early on.

I think vanilla or general needs often fall into the DD/LG dynamic, buying presents, feeding, cozy time, reassurance, etc.

I would propose - DD/P (Princess) can be a sexual or still vanilla expansion. Daddy showing off his Princess, taking care of her needs more fully, and while DD is in charge, he has to pay homage and make his Princess truly
special. (Princesses must be courted, Princesses have almost or all their needs taken care of by others, and id want to show off my courted Princsss as a prize, whereas my LG would be more an intimate and personal connection)

In this way, a DDP relationship could be more extreme vanilla, where I’d expect more sugar daddy/sugar baby dynamics, or, more sexual in nature, where exhibitionism and similar activities would make more natural sense.

I would lastly like to suggest that in a DD/LG dynamic that is primarily sexual and physical, with minimal focus on holistic needs, the term DD/LG once again feels unspecific. I would propose DDGG (Good girl) as ultimately, the validation and praise received is often a core component of said dynamic, where fulfilling DD’s directions are pivotal to the purpose of the LG/GG, or, alternatively, DDB (Brat) where the goal of the LG/B is not to follow DD instruction as directly.

Personally, I fall into the princess category, and I feel like I technically could put DD/LG, but I feel like it wouldn't be true to the term.

It’s not really my specialty field but if you want to expand it with new vocabulary then you may wanna pick words that are not already in use by a different part of your wider community to mean something vastly different
Princess for example is already used for dominant little girls, so as the daddy you would be understood to be as in charge of getting her needs/demands met as a butler is in charge of running a household

Ps i‘m not sure why but referring to a extra specialized subsection of a generally perceived to be controversial niche under category of a already specialized and perceived to be controversial category of kink as „vanilla expansion“ while adding a whole other category of kink to it is kind of funny to me

CGL means caregiver/little

The sub categories are for the most part

Ddlg = daddy dom little girl
Ddlb = daddy dom little boy
Mdlg= mommy dom little girl
Mdlb = mommy dom little boy

The 'expansions' you mentioned aren't something we need to be reorganizing our definitions to make fit.
Those are the topics of conversation you have with someone when sorting out your dynamic, and what each other's wants and needs are in the relationship.

Honestly I get what you're saying but at the same time I think by adding subclasses to an already kind of a relatively small somewhat niche BDSM dynamic which just the name Daddy dom/little girl is more often than not, very misunderstood at best.
There's no need to put a label on every slightly different variation of DDLG because again, I understand you're thinking, but, at the end of the day even using your examples DDB(brat) or DDGG(goog girl). Both brat or good girl would still fit under the umbrella of DDLG since brat or good girl is more of the LG(little girls) behavior rather than introducing a new identity that wouldn't work or fit under the umbrella of DDLG.. just my 2 cents, hope it helps hah

Honestly though, it still does fall under DDLG and the only reason I would be against adding it as subclass and IMHO and so should you is because it's already a misunderstood dynamic/kink and would make it even harder to meet people who specifically into DDPG(Daddy dom/Princess girl) since it would be tucked away in a subclass of DDLG.. you know what I mean??

I don't like to put myself under labels, especially as I don't feel my dynamic fits into any specific category but...your suggestion of DDGG is the closest I've heard to what my d/s connection is. I'd be interested to know whether others are accepting of adding new terms to the CGL and DDLG bracket, or whether it will cause confusion with too many sub-categories?

As humans we like to tuck ourselves away tidily into categories, but my personal opinion is that the majority don't fit into a category neatly. Isn't that the beautiful thing, to be able to create your own unique dynamic?
I use terms on FL as a nod in a direction more than specifics.

But I'm very interested to hear other opinions and thoughts on this 💋
