messaging icons and their meaning

In the messaging section I see icons next to some of the messages and wonder what they mean. There is single check, double check, an eye with strikethrough and a garbage can. I know that single check has been sent and double check means it's been seen but what are the other two?

What would cause a message to be hidden?

Some people dont want to see the message on their inbox but want to feel the power of being able to come back later i guess

I use it to park people who have been challenged to verify themselves and have taken over 24 hours, usually means a scammer and also messages that have been unread for over a week during which the recipient hasn't logged in. Decluttering. Agree that hiding a message can seem tactless, but if you have been helping folks during a Treasure Hunt for instance,it's not so bad to be parked until the next one. The dustbin is not nice but you accept it happens. Best to Ignore and Delete yourself so you don't repeat the same mistake 3 months down the line.

Or people use it to remember who's already messaged them previously instead of deleting and it's got nothing to do with "feeling power" that's weird.
