Being upset is understandable, betrayal hits and hurts on so many levels. May this apology serve as hers to you. Sometimes these words of sorry never come. Sometimes people never learn how their actions hurt or that they hurt others at all. May you find the strength to forgive her and may you find the peace you need.

Let me speak this back with emphasis:

Relationships exist for learning.

You can believe you failed.

But a real man/woman knows not how to fail.

Failure is not the reality.

What appears to be failure becomes learning.

And learning has no end.

So long as you still have energy to give to relationships, relationships continue.

When that energy is gone, it ends.

The lesson remains.

My immediate reaction to this was, 'What a high honor'. 🥹

That was quickly followed by the absurdity of feeling honored, even for a moment, for helping develop a cure when I also helped create the virus.
