Are we apart for the wrong reason?

Recommended Posts

Let all the world forbid this fragile spark,
And build their walls of reason, stone by stone.
I’d gladly tear down heaven in the dark
To spend a single breath with you alone.

Your beauty strikes like lightning in the night,
A fierce and flawless heat that breaks my resolve.
The soft tilt of your gaze, your eyes of light,
Are all the truths in which my ***s dissolve.

They call it madness, say we cannot stay,
That rivers flowing separate cannot meet.
But logic burns and quickly turns to clay
Beneath the desperate rhythm of our beat.
I do not care what penalties are cast,
Or how the heavy hand of fate denies.
If this brief, stolen hour is our last,
I only want to drown within your eyes.
For interest rates may rise and fall,
and data blocks may claim it all,
yet dividends could never pay
for what I wish to say today.

I do not share your charted line,
but wish your hand was holding mine,
a wealth that markets can’t appraise,
defying all your fiscal ways.
