Women who lead: where does humour fit in your dynamic?

Recommended Posts

I’m Mahmoud, 36 and Egyptian, and I’m exploring my interest in female-led dynamics. A woman with a sharp sense of humour catches my attention, and I like the thought of being able to laugh together as well as take each other seriously.

For women who lead, do you enjoy a little playful back-and-forth from someone following your lead, or do you prefer a clearer change in tone? What makes teasing feel affectionate to you rather than irritating?

I’m asking from curiosity, not experience. Ideally I’d learn when my sense of humour is welcome before it gets ahead of my common sense 🙂

Mahmoud, I believe humour is always welcome when it comes wrapped in intelligence, kindness, and respect. A mature woman appreciates a man who can make her laugh without forgetting that she is a woman to be admired, cherished, and treated with a little extra consideration. 😉

I enjoy playful banter and a man who can keep me smiling, provided he understands that teasing should bring two people closer, never diminish either one. And while I have a sharp sense of humour myself, I confess that genuine devotion, thoughtful gestures, and a man who takes pleasure in making his woman feel appreciated will always earn him a few extra points.

After all, a woman who leads may enjoy a little mischief, but even she appreciates a gentleman who knows when to make her laugh, when to listen, and when to remind her—through both words and actions—that he is delighted to be in her company. And if he can do all that with a twinkle in his eye and a touch of cheekiness? Well, he may just find himself in very good standing. 😊

Interesting thread. I love to have an intelligent type of humour inside the FLR-dynamics.

As we both have ADHD, it’s sometimes hard not to laugh. 😉

The other day, I forgot to tie him up securely enough, and suddenly he was standing behind me in a different room. I was so surprised that we both burst out laughing because my face clearly said, “Oops, fuck! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️”
I’m speaking from experience: without a sense of humor, it’s just no fun for me. 😉✌️
I’ve stopped taking myself so seriously, while still being able to take the leading role in the relationship😊

I’m hilarious and awesome so I make em laugh then tell no laughing. They eventually crack and endure the punishment

I think when a submissive can make a joke, it shows intelligence, and even if the joke is about me, only if it makes me laugh, and it's not completely at my own expense, then it shows that they are paying attention to me, enough to be able to throw it back at me in a way. I loveeee banter. It grows the connection. As a chick, there's guys out there that truly think that women can be funny, so it's refreshing.

And with that being said playfully introduce what ur intrested if it’s not someone you know if their intrested in that lifestyle. I feel like most of us are interested but never been asked

BZBEE, a woman who can outwit me has my attention. One who can do it kindly may find me suspiciously well behaved 😉 I like your distinction: teasing should bring us closer, not make either of us feel small.

LovedLady, an unexpected escape artist 😂 I love that you could both laugh at it. That kind of ease is a big part of the appeal for me.

Sorry! *[guys] that truly think women CANT be funny

Teasing feels affectionate when its non violent. And competitive if and only the woman looks to enjoy the competition. It depends the comtext of the teasing. Are u saying she cooks like shit or looks like shit etc. or simply rubbing a thigh. Like what is the context

I would always tease him and playful banter back and forth makes for good relationship. I would always be affectionate but the tone would change when I want something more rough and I do love a man who can make me laugh even during play besides that’s what gags are for

I'm adhd and funny af. I want you laughing. Why does this have to be such a serious thing? It's all about enjoyment so if laughing happens, glad I could contribute to it. Now, I dont think I'd like my sub trying to make me laugh or anything. It's always been a real turn off for me when a guy thinks he's as funny as I am and really isn't. Pick me behavior.

Nonnahs, I meant gentle verbal banter—something we both find funny, with room to say “that one didn’t land.” I’m much more comfortable making myself the joke than taking a swipe at someone’s looks or insecurities. My own awkward moments provide plenty of material 🙂

SoleGlow, I get that. It’s much nicer when the laugh sneaks up on both of you than when someone keeps checking whether their joke worked. I’d happily enjoy a woman’s sense of humor without trying to beat her to the punchline 🙂

Chrissy, being able to laugh together is a big part of what appeals to me too. As a beginner, I’d appreciate someone who’s comfortable making a change of tone clear. Do you usually talk about that early on, or learn each other’s cues as you go?
