I posted something and it was rejected (which annoyed me since it was a long piece of writing) ... Anyway.

I wonder who has advice about connecting with women for hypnosis play? Just for shits and grins I posted an add online asking for local women who wanted to explore erotic hypnosis.

I had one lady who sent me dozens of nude pics, which was a nice gesture, but I think she was in her 60's and out of shape. I just wasn't attracted to playing with her. I would have helped with hypnosis or eft or anything like that, if she wanted.

I also had a woman with an eye-catching email name. So I looked the name up, and she is a porn actress. I thought "That's kinda' wild, I could play here." but when I answered her request to do it she was "Poof" vapor. Maybe she was in a goofy mood when she wrote, or she's busy, or who knows, that's fine. However, I know there are people who are able to find women who want to do this stuff.

chances are it was a catfish account.  I can tell you there are, or have been, 'famous' people on here but they don't use their porn names for obvious reasons

in recent years I've known two guys locally who specialise in hypnosis and in both cases they found prospective partners by being active in their local fetish scene.   what they also did is volunteer to do hypnosis publicly at an event and that could help show people they were safe and genuine and what was involved.

Tell me more about finding fetish scenes. I knew a guy who put on all kinds of BDSM and other events. I attended a couple of his events doing handwriting analysis and hypnosis. For me they were pretty wild. I'm kind of vanilla, so watching for example sexy women wearing BDSM outfits and making out with other women who were in "bondage". Classic scenes, it was all new and mind blowing for me. Lots of stuff to explore, but I'm not even sure how to find groups to meet women. Years ago I was in Adult Friend Finder and there were local groups where you could hang out with groups and make friends. Thing is recently I tried joining again, but everything is SOOOO different. Most accounts are fake and no groups of real people seem to exist.

you don't necessarily need a full on fetish or BDSM event - just a local munch is a starting point - if you google findamunch that's a good start, that's a directory that makes it easy to find stuff - the links kinda lead you into fetlife - but not always

I would suggest that you look at the "Erotic hypnosis" discussion on Fetlife.   They used to have postings for meetups but I haven't checked in a while.
