Be not meek nor mild

Recommended Posts

She walks not beside the trembling lamb,
But with the beast who broke the dam.
Her heart—no fluttering cagebird's song,
But a drum that calls the bold and strong.

She does not chase the gentler man,
Nor warm to boys who beg or plan.
Her fire is fanned by raging skies—
By eyes that dare, not mouths that lie.

She breeds not comfort, nor quiet grace—
But men whose steps shake time and space.
Let others court with wilted flowers—
She yields to kings who seize their hours.
