Sh**** Posted September 25 My advice would be to pick your favorite flavor of electrolyte based beverage and mix that in a 1:1 ratio with water. If it’s simply a flavor issue perhaps you could try a sparkling water? Some of my go to flavors are cherry or lime but there’s a few brands that really hit that soda flavor without all the sugar and nonsense.

Gr**** Posted September 25 I am one of those sweat dripping to the point of getting mildly dehydrated AND I suck at drinking water... Well, I do not drink alcohol during plays for obvious reasons but also because it dehydrates as well. I also tend to drink more water if it's sparkling. I always have a couple or more on the refrigerator when a play os about to go down and you may mix it with any fruits you like (I squeeze a line with some sweetener as I am a diabetic) ... Way healthier than sodas. Hope that kind of helps. Have fun!

Da**** Posted September 25 Get yourself a 2 quart mixing jug and a box of crystal light you can handle. This helps me drink an extra 2 quarts a day. Liquid IV is another popular product for rehydrating with balance. They're tasty too, but iirc lot of salt.
Nc**** Posted September 25 I add electrolytes to my water and drink it regularly. I try to drink at least a gallon of water a day. With 25%-50% of it having electrolytes added. It also ends up costing less than Gatorade. I also eat fruits and vegetables with high water content.

si**** Posted September 25 something that could help is incorporating drinking water into different scenes. I always forget to drink water as well (especially when I’m at home), so if you place a bottle of water next to your bed that could also help with remembering (that’s what I do at work)

typhoon2 Posted September 25 Always have plenty of water available during a scene and easy access (typically a straw or sports cap, since any decent bondage will mean they can't use their hands!). Pause regularly to rehydrate, with the Top insisting (as part of the scene but also as basic care). During the debrief/warm down and aftercare, ensure that fluid levels are maintained. Water may not be enough if a rough impact scene so consider tea or coffee, energy drinks and the like, as appropriate. I played with someone who squirted so much that she was effectively hungover from dehydration; that was a lesson taken to heart by both of us. Of course if hydration is a known issue then this should be flagged up during negotiations and steps taken.
Do**** Posted September 25 Literally, during one of my more memorable sessions I had to say Red and insist on having some water. That taught me to ask for water more often. Also, most of the Doms I've been with always check-in on how I'm doing and I take the opportunity of that pause to ask for water. Make it a habit for yourself to ask often. Make it a condition to have a water bottle on hand before you start playing even if you only drink it during aftercare. There's no trick to it really, you just have to take care of all of your body's needs. Remember, if you stay hydrated the longer you can keep playing.
He**** Posted September 25 They hammer in the Army to get electrolytes. Obviously different environments but biology is still the same. My wife likes Liquid IV.
Bl**** Posted September 25 Add salt to your water. Sounds odd. But that’s what you sweat out. It’s minerals. Helps actually absorb the water you drink.
wo**** Posted September 25 Have lots of ice water by the bedside (keep many bottles of water in the freezer, thaw about halfway before sex). Also have room temp bottles. When you drink a half ice bottles refill them with room temp water and put them at the back of your rotation. Repeat.

St**** Posted September 25 Have water or Gatorade nearby and drink as needed. It’s not just the bodily fluid dispense, it’s also the ‘work out’ you’re getting overall from the increased heart rate and body movements during. People normally end up tired, hungry, thirsty after sex / scenes / sessions, it’s very common.
