jo**** Posted October 8 Anyone awake I can’t sleep lately and today is no different anyone know of a good way to go back to bed
Mr**** Posted October 8 Find a comfort thing, a comforting scent, music, sounds that put your mind to rest, read a book. Failing anything just keep your eyes shut, you're still resting with your eyes closed even if you don't get the full effects of sleep.
La**** Posted October 8 Hi. Im sorry for your current situation. As someone whos battling with life long insomnia and sleep disorder, there is one thing that seems to keep helping me: get your room to the right temperature (not too hot and slightly cold), lay on your back and cover your body with the duvet up to your neck, rest your hands on top of your stomach or beside your body—then take couple deep breaths and try to not move. If you have racing thoughts, just let it happen but do not move your body and keep do the deep breathing work. Usually that will help me gone. If it seemed to not work yet, reset the whole thing. Move a little, then go back to lay on your back and repeat the whole thing. Good luck.
sl**** Posted October 8 Matt Walker did in my opinion a great podcast about sleep which helped me a lot. He explains there how you can fix nearly every sleeping issue and how to find out which sleep issue you have.
km**** Posted October 8 I have ADHD and I’m somewhere close to perimenopause so I have sleep issues too. I take Trazadone to help me stay asleep, and usually it helps. Falling asleep isn’t usually my problem. But I also have some mental tips to sometimes help me in falling asleep or back to sleep. I work on my mental lists lol. ADHDers have plenty of these. But you have to be careful to not rabbit hole into thinking of projects and then deep thinking those projects. It can be a slippery slope lol. And sometimes I put myself into a homemade novel of some sort. Not kinky, not sexy, just a random storyline that I’m the main character and my story developed like in h the beginning of any book. I don’t usually get too far in before I fall asleep. It’s like the mundane set up I guess. I also try to write out/type out my actual lists as much as I can so it’s not on my mind to worry about. Good luck!

ro**** Posted October 8 A good healthy Diet & Melatonin.. go to the Drs. My *** pressure was high. Not "go to the emergency room , you're about to have a stroke" high, but, "you're old, fat, eat garbage, don't exercise"... 2 months later the *** pressure is down, I have a shitload of energy, I fuck like I did when I was 18 years old, and sleep like a baby.
Mr-Beard Posted October 8 Focus on your breath - count exhalation from 100 down to 0 - this puts mind at ease if you have running thoughts Stretch just before bed or in bed try tensing and relaxing all your muscles starting from tips of toes /fingers and ending at face I like boring historical podcasts but you can find other asmr or white noise, sound of waves / wind / rain
Si**** Posted October 9 Get up and do whats on your mind to quiet it. Melatonin and sleeping pills help some but not me, atleast not anymore

Your body has to cool off a couple of degrees before you can fall asleep and I forget what the science behind it is but taking a warm bath ( or shower I suppose ) helps that process along. Beyond that turning a fan or other form of white noise on can sometimes help too. A little bit of * is always helpful too. But I'm guessing if you had that you probably already tried it and it's not working lolol. If your mind is racing from one thought to the next you probably wont sleep either. So try counting backwards from 100 to keep out the intrusive thoughts. It may take a couple tries because they're called intrusive for a reason.

sh**** Posted October 10 I eat a peanut butter sandwich and drink a glass of milk. Out within ten minutes, my runny is pleased not full and I feel good about eating a “healthy snack “ instead of junk food. Honestly, I eat a spoonful of peanut butter or a one slice of bread peanut butter (Peter Pan) sandwich and drink a a glass of milk majority nights before bed and those nights I have the best sleep and rest.
