Question on Roles Description on Profiles

Recommended Posts

There may be a very good reason, but why do people put both Dominant and Submissive as their BDSM roles in their profiles, but not Switch?

Presumably you are not going to completely give up on being either dominant or submissive, so when people are searching for Switches, these profiles will not show up.

I could see selecting Dominant, Submissive and Switch, but why eliminate a percentage of people that may be interested in you by omitting Switch from your profile?
Where I've seen this elsewhere, reading the mainly limited profile descriptions, they seem to have no leaning towards the BDSM lifestyle, so probably don't know what the terms mean.

one possibility is their own understanding

another is their own interpretation

another might be their own preference

for example some switches will switch with the same person. Others will be Dominant towards one person, and submissive towards another.

Exactly I am only a switch for select people and prefer my main roles

That makes so much sense. Thanks

As a switch, it is always going to depend on the dynamic with the other person. I've been in relationships where I am the dominant partner and others the submissive partner. It typically depends on what we both want from the arrangement. I do, however, agree that if someone is picking both dom and sub that they don't know or understand what a switch is.

Not quite there are some relationships that are of two switches that tend to go back and forth for those who depending on the person saying Dom and sub is very useful. In example ik of a woman who subs for men but is a complete Dom for females.
