I think you have to often find is it can be quite daunting for folk.  And, also, a kinda issue that a lot of men get very pushy for meets quickly and yes, that does result in people cutting contact.

the gifts thing is largely BS.

Basically, in general it's supposed to be a bit of fun like "I had points so I got you this gift of flowers" or something. 

But, 

if someone has set filters - i.e. don't message me if you are outside this range, you can bypass these filters by using points to send them a gift
