What's a good 1st date idea? Seems like everyone just wants to go to the bar 🤷

Museums, parks, movies (most generic), festivals, or just a day trip to different destinations; I like doing cool museums or maybe a trip to a couple winery’s for wine tastings with lunch or supper along the way.

It is different and more engaging in my opinion

Bars are often popular because, for example, it's an opportunity to chat and it's somewhere neutral and easier for you both to have pre-planned how to get home, and easier to plan for any spotter or contingency - they also have opportunity for an "out" at any time or to expand if things go well

but if you're not bars - don't do it, but what ARE you into?  

One thing though, a mistake some make is trying to be overly flash on early dates and it has problems if it impresses someone with something you don't actually like to do, or can't really afford to do

Hell... just going out for coffee is a great first date to me. Low expectations, with a possibility of more. It doesn't click? No biggie. It was just coffee.

It depends on what you and your date both enjoy - have you got common ground?
I don't mind bars or coffee shops, but if I get the chance to suggest first date ideas then mine include
- A walk in an urban park
- Museums
- Art galleries
- Indoor crazy golf

Anywhere that you have the ability to talk is great. If your date includes an activity that stimulates conversation, all the better!
As eyemblacksheep has suggested though, inexpensive early dates are ideal. If you don't have the spark, you've not lost much financially.

I’m an outdoors girl. So my favorite go to first dates is just getting food and going and eating at a park or going for a short hike. My favorite kind of later on in the relationship dates are ones where my boyfriend comes over and I cook for him.

I took a woman to a forest in the summer on a first date and had a picnic i cooked on a camp fire. We had garlic sweetcorn potato gratis that i made from fresh while there. Jacket potato with salad a beans followed by apple and cinnamon crunch with chocolate and toffee.... We had music and wine and a blanket...... It was wonderful.
