How old is your profile photo?

Interested to know how often people update their images and bio.
Is it important to be up to date in your images and description?

Well, my profile photo is fairly old honestly, but it hasn't changed it's still there

If a main (or only) pic is so old it's degraded, no other up-to-date pics are offered on page, bio hasn't been updated with important changes and or in years, or a profile hasn't been logged into for a veey long time, these are all offputting and cautions for Me.
I don't typically show my face or body on this site on my page, so it perhaps matters less if these are recent. However, I share current photos in private, am up front about my physicality where relevant, attempt to keep my page's accurate and update as needed, and I also interact in the feed and forums which I feel is important for being seen as 'current.' Having a main profile pic - the first thing seen of a person - representing oneself from a time gone by and one no longer looks like that in all the major ways is dishonest representation IMHO. If I really, really dig a pic of me from that one time that one event that one year many years back, I'd better have others showing the Me now and or explanation across the former pic.

Great question! I do think it's important to have a moderately recent/accurate photo and at least for a description to not be inaccurate as we evolve and grow.

My pfp is around 18 months old. I get told that I have changed very little over the years and there are other pics for comparison here too; if I were consciously seeking or a fraction as active here as I used to be then perhaps I would have replaced my main image with something more recent, but I've lost so much interest and faith in the site that I've not had any inclination to.

My description had remained the same for a few years, perhaps four at an estimate? I occasionally received criticism for it being overlong/detailed, yet the people who would feel that way were not the people I would be writing it for anyway - I always maintain I would rather capture the interest of one person who likes and is intrigued by me for who I genuinely am than have the attention of a thousand others interested in a fake/shallow portrayal of myself I put out there to look good and win affections.

I began to feel it was maybe due a bit of an overhaul though and during a particularly disenchanted phase late last year deleted the whole description pending a rewrite which has not yet happened and likely never will 🤷‍♂️

I have one from last summer the rest are from this last Dec I think maybe Nov, these than 6 months. My bio, I change that often only because I’m trying to get the info I want on there in as short an amount as possible. I really don’t like when there is nothing written / very little filled in. So I probably have to much. 🤷‍♀️
