What I have noticed is that on both laptop and mobile, I now seem to be steered to the new site on login - again, despite having switched to the old flavour before logging out. There seems to be some German leaking into the English version... Aktive for example and "Ein Neu..." something or other that passed me by. What I do feel is required if the owners are serious is a) the existing feedback option and far, far more importantly b) a public forum where the Community may debate the good and bad points, because not everyone is going to engage in UAT for free, but many will have an opinion on 'features' that are brought to their attention. One thing I haven't been able to find is Settings/My Membership. I mention this because it is disgusting and soon to be illegal in the UK - trapped renewal. On the old site, you cannot actively cancel your DD. Hunt around, follow the instructions, but at the point of cancellation... no deal. I had to ask a FETMOD and unbelievably, the only way to sort it out was to send an email to the technical support team. Nowhere was this made apparent, yet on the App, which we all despise, the Google/Apple T&Cs seem to make this mandatory, as any decent site should. ****** Edited April 7 by CaraVirt edited for tone

I can help a little with this as it's an old issue it basically depends on where you got the subscription from if you subscribe through google or apple you have to cancel through them, not the site. It's in your manage subscriptions, you can at any time if you join through the site, it is easy enough to cancel on the site a problem is some were singing through apple/google then trying to cancel on the site and it doesn't work like that. However, tech support could investigate and could place a request to google/apple to cancel you - but it's much easier to cancel where you signed up

Should I have done so, it also told me that I'd be airbrushed from history, Soviet Russia style. Why the Fetmod told me that asking the tech team was the best option, which I did and it was sorted that way. Never used the App as way back when launched, it was telling me to disable all my anti virus and to edit register settings to enable the install. No chance.

They failed to keep it updated with the latest PHP version, so when the two emergency patches were released for the latest version, 'mitigations' were also made available for those sites tied into older versions with clear expectations that they should be upgraded to use the latest PHP patched libraries. Fetish took one look and decided against, probably the ideal solution for them, like a safety car in F1. Unfortunately for us old timers who have been using V1 for years, V2 is an abomination by comparison. I hadn't realised quite why I hated it so much until ***d to do so.

I'm assuming the original site is gone. I guess that makes my decision about upgrading again much easier.

In other words, suck it up you long standing V1 losers. Move forward with the times. Even though we and all the FetMods know that V2 is a pathetic pastiche and designed to look like the mobile App and not like a decent website, which V1 really was.

ey**** Posted Thursday at 09:58 PM So, I didn't actually initally realise this - but it's been 7 months since the "new version" rolled out, which of course up until yesterday people could "use old version" which I suspect many did My reason for suspecting this is, other than the new site looking frankly awful, that there's a 6 month gap between comments on *this* thread and no new threads started relating to the (many) issues on the new site And this takes me into a frustration which just isn't new from this site unfortunately. Now I know it will frustrate others as well, but a lot of this literally comes from my day job, and they cheap out on quite an important part of software development : QA. So, and they've done this before with messaging and with other things - is they'll put something out half cocked and get regular users to report bugs. Now the first kinda rule of product development is nothing is really bug free - but to effectively cheap out and place it onto the users to do is insane. But still. It's been 7 months, something which wasn't needed - and shouldn't have been released in the state it was in, hasn't really gotten any better. It is terrible from a UX basis, falls foul of accessibility requirements and is just a mess. It feels like the whole thing has been developed in production, rather than in a pre-prod/QA/sandbox environment and then just tinkered with here and there rather than having any proper development cycle. And I'm probably limited to what I can say; but, this type of stuff has bitten them on the arse in the past....

lo**** Posted Saturday at 12:00 AM Honestly, my biggest gripe over all of this, is the complete radio silence from devs. Why aren't they in this forum talking to us. Why aren't they at least posting about updates or changes, why was not even a shred of "promotion" for the new layout. Because it sucks and they know it. It might not even be devs fault, could be site owners or other idiots making decisions without thinking them through or any form of proper planning or community consulting. It's just sad.
ey**** Posted Saturday at 08:29 AM I think - there isn't necessarily need for consultation on a site with so much churn, but absolutely - the devs are maybe the wrong people for comms, but, there are community managers and other staff where it often feels they need to be more present I don't mean the fetmods (who do a great job - but it is better getting comms from a community manager, than an anonymous fetmod account) but yeah. For me I don't understand why there was a need for a new version at all - no evidence of improvement on function or features, loads of new bugs
