Genuine Conversations

Absolutely yes. Unfortunately no one that I ever write to is ever remotely interested. 😒

I used to have tons of conversations, phone calls, FaceTimes, texts that would last hours— and for me the act of expressing myself and being listened to—an reciprocating that same thing would feel electric. Especially at one point when I had to sneak and use my house phone and not get caught by my parents.
Then as I got older, they just became conversations being hard on a late night when I should probably be getting some sleep, so I’m not too tired for practicing in the morning.

Now, I’m 34 and after having so many of those conversations, I realize they all lead to the same place. It’s nice to see that the person across from you has a head on their shoulders but like “ Machiavelli” talks about — majority of the world wants to be entertained.

So whether it’s existential, philosophical, psychological, world views or just deeply expressing ourselves and our opinions on different topics from sex to politics to religion to men or womens roles or issues—-Sometimes the conversations do more to bring a drift between two people versus bringing them together and having fun with one another.

It’s definitely still fun from time to time when it happens organically or if me and a female are together and we’re watching something that stimulates that kind of conversation after the fact.

But for the most part now it’s more fun to just be lively and stay in the moment and do things together that give us memories and connection. It builds that bond and certain levels of comfortability together without needing or caring about where the other stands or thinks on a topic.

But that all depends on how important that kind of stuff is to you.
