Wheelchair accessibility?

I have multiple Sclerosis and I am in a wheelchair. My legs will move most of the time but I can't stand. I want to attend munches and get involved in the community. I am currently unattached romantically. I am plus size so it makes lifting me a little more complicated. Are munches and events generally handicapped friendly?
