Birthday Wishes

For most of my life,
my birthday arrived quietly—
a date passing through the house
without anyone pausing
to say, you matter here.

I learned not to expect candles,
not to wait for voices,
not to confess how deeply it hurt
to be forgotten.

Still, beneath the practiced silence,
the wanting remained:
to be noticed,
to be chosen,
to have someone remember
what I could never quite say aloud.

So this year,
I want a Dom who understands
that authority can be tenderness—
who listens before leading,
and makes each promise
with care.

Someone who can fulfill my wishes
within the scene—
through anticipation, restraint,
and the deliberate surrender
of what we have chosen together—

and beyond it,
through messages that arrive,
small rituals kept,
and the steady proof
that I remain in their thoughts
when no role is being played.

I want to surrender my wishes
to someone attentive enough
to hold them safely—
to make the day feel deliberate,
not accidental.

And when the scene is over,
let there be warmth,
a hand resting over mine,
and words I have waited years to hear:

Not only for an evening,
