When you gift an icon, the member you are gifting to receives the icon and the points for that icon.  If you would like the icon and the points back you just need to return to its original hiding place and it will be waiting for you to recollect. Once you recollect you will also get your points back too.  Best to keep a list of where you originally found the icons as the system will randomly gift from what you have collected so far.  The list will help you work out which one is gifted and where to go to recollect again.

You'll have just 24 hours after icon 24 is released as once a day has elapsed, they announce the winners and tear it all down. The usual form is to give them away and then reharvest them, why it pays to keep a note of where they all are. Pixie is always top of the pops in the donation charts, regularly hitting 15000+ donations. However, if you give them away and don't re-harvest, you'll lose a shedload of free points which can be useful for buying a 14 day trial Premium Membership upgrade for 1500. The Hunt will have given you 760 by day 24, on top of the 30 per day you are allowed to gather normally (1 point per sent message or liked photo).
