If they pry, politely tell them that they raised an adult who now makes adult decisions. Then tell them that they raised you very well and you love them.

They will neither benefit nor be harmed by you not sharing the intimate details of your life.

If they choose to be stressed, that’s theirs.

For you, you’ll be stressed whether you inform them or not. But, you can step back and see that you can also NOT be stressed, either way.

Control what you control. ;)

There's no need for them to know your business. Tell them you've gone back to monogamy, they were right. Then they can sleep at night and you can live your life.

Absolutely, you happiness does die with them. A tad bit morbid, but who's responsible for you once they are gone. You answer to you and you alone.

Who says it’s any of their business? Just my first thought. Maybe it’s just something you don’t bring up to them. If they can’t respect it and it’s not hurting them then it’s none of their business. Anyways end of rant lol

And if they don't accept you for who you are do they deserve to be in the lives of both of you? They may have given birth to you. But doesn't mean you need to tolorate disrespect from any family member.

Its your relationship. That being said they know what you tell them. If they dont like it don't talk to them about it. Find your happy place and dont let anyone else fuck it up for you.

Performing for someone else's comfort always has consequences. If you're ok with the risk of losing another potential partner, you can play into your parents' version of "normal." If you would prefer to keep a potential partner and risk losing a relationship with your parents, that is also your choice. In my opinion, your happiness won't cost you relationships that are meant to stay and build you up. If someone values you, then your happiness will be encouraged no matter how uncomfortable the other person/people are with your choices and/or preferences.
