Safe Experimentation Environment

Just don't expect anything at first, treat everything as an adventure and always communicate how you feel!

usually with less of a word salad than you've managed

Typical I will asks a question then answer my own question before expecting a response. I do this because bdsm is an intimate subject and sharing helps create a safe space so your partner can share with you.

Also read people’s bios. Often times they will list limits there

funny. i found it really structured.

Some may not respond but thank you for the likes. Anyone have anything they like to add to the discussion

Anytime experimenting is involved with BDSM and kink play communication is paramount for all. Teaching and training all involve so many aspects and each person needs to be aware of all possibilities of safety. Verbalize all the planning and how things will go and in what order things should occur.

Be patient and take your time in each experience. You and your partner deserve to enjoy the best of each situation. All spaces can be safe with the right set of rules and knowledge, that are shared by all who play there. Stick to them.

to tie in with my tongue-in-cheek comment and also to answer the question

Clear Communication.

I'll tell you an issue a lot of people run into; they'll go into a play date, relationship or arrangement and withold some of the things they'd like to do or try for whatever reason. In some cases it's shame. In some cases it's a *** of being told no. In some cases, especially some subs, that if they say it and their partner does it than did they really submit to them or did the Dominant just do it cos they were asked.

And, well, our partners aren't mindreaders.

How to approach the conversation does depend on the nature of the relationship and of course how experimenting helps both people.  Generally speaking, folk don't like to be treat as someone's experiment, but if it's someone you're in some form of relationship then there's ideas you can discuss together and try.   It is of course a case of making sure both people are happy and you can bounce ideas together.

An important part of this is in being able to accept a 'no'.   And that's good. Cos if you can accept a no and a partner can feel comfortably raising a no, there's more likely that "yeses" are rooted in consent

Mind, again, depending on what you want to try there is going to be some form of learning and research needed. Don't suddenly start hitting someone with a cane or flogger or buying a toy for penetration that's just wrong for you.
