Needing Community

I have been advised to seek out local BDSM community for guidance and help starting.  My problem is how do you find this community?  I live in a small city with the nearest large cities 2 or more hours away.

If you Google your town/city name and terms like "munch", "kink event" and even "BDSM" you should hopefully find something.

there's a lot of remote areas of the US which - yeah - I get how hard it is to get to anything.  (though, you may be surprised at how much happens even in smaller cities)

but community can be online as well as anything else.   

A lot is - what are the questions that need answering?

Work online till you're able to attend events. If the smaller events aren't worth the travel, consider conventions

I remember when the UK Munch and club scene was mainly in two areas, so traveling a distance was a must, what i would suggest is pick one that's easier to get to but also have a backup plan of a place to visit, show to see etc especially if you have to stay over night due to event times etc.  

I always use a London trip for meets as an excuse to visit my fav BDSM shop and ohhh hello credit card sorry your going to have to suffer that cardia arrest, when i see the new fetters gear haha  so i can see, try before i buy.  Just like the Munches, which were on a night, so that precluded a day return for traveling, id do my shopping, attend the munch, hotel, then next morning tourist attraction before train back.

Thanks for the advice.  I checked out fetlife and discovered there is a flourishing community here
