And yet, people still manage to have fulfilling sex lives without infecting anyone/anyone contracting. Simply touching skin to skin, breakout or no, doesn’t tend to transfer HSV. It’s the friction that works it into a person. It’s weird, heh. Also noted, numbers of people who are never infected despite being with partners who are positive. Weird stuff. Again, though, HSV is not life threatening.

I agree with you on everything else but the skin to skin and friction part. It is a skin to skin contact if you are having an outbreak. You can also catch it through semen if that person is not on medication and about to have an outbreak.

not quite the same thing - but - in the 80s during the HIV outbreak, rubber gloves were used as a kinda form of prejudice.   It was very much implying the other person/people were dirty

like, if you don't believe it's a risk - why would you want to wear gloves anyway?

I wear a helmet even if I probably won't crash. In BDSM porn gloves are pretty standard for fingering/fisting.

Why would she want a guy she just met to finger her without gloves? It's so odd to be against being more safe.

Helmets, for example, don't stop you getting into an accident. They do however massively reduce the risk of death or serious *** if you do

but, you might only wear a helmet if you're on a building site or riding a bike or similar vehicle.

You wouldn't wear a helmet to walk down the street even though, I dunno, a tile might fall of the top of a building.  you also wouldn't wear one when driving a car, even if it would reduce the risk to you if you crashed

if you don't believe touching someone will give you HSV2 - then wearing gloves makes no difference by your own logic - and, my point above was to explain why she might be a little freaked.

Porn is slightly different and one of the big differences in porn is that most performers have multiple sexual partners in a month and there's a whole range of different things to contend with.

The other day I did pegging with someone and she'd brought a brand new dildo and never pegged anyone before, but I gave her a condom for the dildo given it would be used on other people - my certs were negative, but, it's good practice if she's going to be shooting with multiple people.  While also I have a set of dildos which ONLY get used on me so I don't use a condom on them.  They are mine.  They are only used on me, there's no risk of them spreading anything around (and, the size/shape on a couple of them makes condoms difficult anyway)

Eh, I like to be extra careful I suppose. We have different risk tolerances.

This factually wrong, asymptomatic shedding exists and how most herpes is spread. Sure you're less likely but you can get herpes.

Watching people say so many untrue things about this is pretty disturbing.

Viral sheddings is generally in the same area that the outbreaks appear so if it’s only genital then no one can posibaly ever catch it from you from touching your elbows or any other part of the body the sheddings happen at the site of/to be/or been.. just don’t touch someone’s dick when it’s questionable feel free to touch the rest of them as you please and hope they don’t have oral herpes as well

In the case of being asymptomatic, it gets even more convoluted than that. Yes people shouldn’t be afraid to mingle with others in a general manner. The ***s are real; not all based in total factuality, but valid regardless. Err on the side of obtaining an STI and things seems less bleak ? Heh Take heart in the notion that no STI equals end of sexual life. Attitude and staring down stigma do make a huge difference.
