yeah, I also work in product development.

and as I say, there's stuff I agree with you in essence.  In reality, none of the major dating sites have mandatory verification, some have optional with perks, none have mandatory payment requirements, some have optional with perks

Fluttr does require mandatory biometric verification and got a lot of press at launch but has been struggling since.  It is very difficult to get user buy-in

Also a big problem is when people do pay, a lot expect something - the main vibe of this thread is "I messaged people - they owe me a response" so imagine the vibe if it was *I was made to pay*" 

This said, genuinely, I really hope you do launch your own site - with mandatory verification from Day 1 - because I see the benefits of people being fully verified - and that it's a success - but behaviour suggests that it might struggle, a la Fluttr.

Mind - this said - with various bills on adult content in various states in various countries, it may well be that adult themed sites like this will need to verify a bigger percentage of people and that could have an interesting results.  The kick back on fetlife rolling out *optional* verifcation suggests there could be struggles.

I’m a web and desktop app developer. So believe me when I say, I’ve already built the majority of an app that will change our community for the better. Getting payment processors to buy in is the hard part. But I’ll get there.

aye, payment processors is the challenge for sure - dating sites in general are marked as high risk so it's difficult to get a favourable rate.  Adult sites are also marked as high risk. So double whammy.

Then there's what they'll accept/tolerate to process payments

It's a shame actually cos - one of the big things which helped this site grow in the early days was 'Dominatrix' accounts - especially in Germany, they paid extra to be here and it became a kinda... directory... and also of course encouraging people on for dating.  But the app and payment processors etc means the people who helped grow the site are no longer welcome :/

We all want people to be real, either by their name or the photos they send you, but scammers don't care, they just want to ruin people's lives just for fun. I've had my share of scammers, and if I had my way they wouldn't exist so I say let all sites verify by ID.

It is 100% NOPE from me for mandatory verification. If I had known what I know now about how poor data privacy is and how little developers (in general, I have no affiliation to this site to know how they do it) care to protect it, AND what AI & facial recognition data is used to I would have never done it. Especially dangerous to verify on a site like this if you live in USA or have to travel there.

If you can not have bit of patience to sus out users by their actions then idk don't be online. Visit or host a munch. Protecting your privacy should be more important than getting your dick wet. You would think people in the kink community would understand this.

on our local community - someone has just been outed to his workplace, and had a malicious allegation filed to the police - the person who did this is someone who knew things like this real name, address, telephone, and workplace - so likely someone close to him doing it through spite

but no matter how much a site said they were secure - as and when something like this happens - it puts a lot of distrust in systems.  

and there are platforms I believe do handle data security well - but that doesn't mean others have the same confidence and that always has to be factored.  that, and, picking up the pieces and sorting compensation if there is a breach.

Sadly, there are sites that claim your identity is protected, but in reality, nothing is fool proof

I'll say also - even if a site had come up with something that was fool proof - how do you get they buy in that it is?  How do you convince people?

Everything online had to do either with trust. You can verify with ID on any site, but if the site doesn't detect fake IDs then it's moot

that in itself is a huge issue, that even if the site has (or says it has) a good system to detect fake ID - whether the users trust that also.    Equally, of course, there were allegations that OnlyFans was sharing IDs with things like aviation agencies to 'verify' which in turn meant that aviation could link people's passport to if they sold on OF.   This is unproven, mind, and plenty of people travel freely.  But can you imagine if someone did sign up for a site then 6 weeks later their passport flagged? It would arouse suspicion to the site even if not true.

Right, this very minute, there are three different profiles with the same pictures.
Same exact girl. Every single one of them has the same scam. The only people I have met on this entire site who are the actual people in their profile picture ...is the admins...
I've only been on here for a few months, but im talking about over 15 so far and counting...they all have different scams of coarse. These people run in teams and groups and flood a site for maximum pay out. They havant gotten a dime out of me.
The only thing they managed to take from me was my faith in humanity...🙆‍♂️

I need a way to post the pictures that they use , So that everyone on here knows not to waste any time engaging with profiles using these pictures .. Ive saved them all, and I have all the text messages and screen shots to prove it.
I gonna start airing their asses out!!

Go through the proper channels as well and if possible reach out to the real person in the photo if possible

Good question, but let's say the photo is from an OF content creator, those photos will have a water mark at the bottom of the page

I am genuinely looking for a connection not some subscription to happiness idk its hard because i get it but at same time why lock it behind a dollar sign, i am a single father and maintain us pretty well but i can't afford 60-100+ a month just to talk to someone. It has been irritating for me personally.
