the single biggest piece of advice I can give is this:

if you use the web... download the app if you can.

they are two different systems with two different approaches.

If you're planning on gifting many away as the game goes on, its best to keep a list of where you collected them from, as the site gives away a random one from what you have collected. Having a list or keeping a grid map will make it easier for you to recollect.

Thank you! I was trying to gift people in this forum that said they didn't have one, I guess they were probably already gifted what they needed by the time I got to them, and that's why I couldn't see the option to give away an icon.

Great advice above to check the website if struggling on the phone. I had no luck on the phone today but quickly found it on the website.
