C-**** Posted July 30 For those of you with a mini dungeon at home/a room for activities, what kind of flooring do you have? I'm converting a room to a play room, and looking for something that looks somewhat classy but is easy to clean. Currently thinking about vinyl, but I guess if it gets damaged the entire thing needs to be replaced.
sp**** Posted July 30 Vinyl plank. Or those interlocking rubber squares that people put in their home gyms and whatnot.
Ta**** Posted July 30 We have ours in the basement, which is semi-finished with a concrete floor. If that's an option for you, it's great!
Scientist19 Posted July 30 Check out natural rubber. Comes in all colors, patterns and textures. Works especially well with floor heating and it's noise reduction properties come in handy too. And it's made for heavy duty areas like at airports or hospitals etc. I got one pic in my gallery (chair) which shows one of their products in a very light grey: www.nora.com

I have no personal experience in dungeon building but if things get wet, those rubber tiles allow liquid to pass through. Not the most sanitary of choices.
Ha**** Posted July 30 Interlocking foam squares from Lowe’s or Home Depot. They come in different colors, u see them at the gym. Underneath is just regular floor insulation.
C-**** Posted July 30 Author Great suggestions, thanks! It'll be office in one side of room. Kink in the other. Business in the front, party in the back. You guys know how it is lol. So I'm going for a more classy feel to it, so concrete is not really the vibe I'm after. Unfortunately the house doesn't have a basement. Yeah my main concern is bodily fluids tbh, so rubber mats are out I'm afraid.

The rubber panels are kind of welded after they are glued to the ground. Can't recommend this highly enough but what else to expect from a guy with a thing for latex?^^
my**** Posted July 30 The interlocking squares would be nice. Traction is always a plus and they are squishy enough that a kneel pad might not be necessary depending on age.
Ru**** Posted July 30 I have interlocking gym flooring great for crawling and playing on not so good with heel but who said she could walk in them
Sh**** Posted July 31 I'm a contractor and just depends on the end result you wish for. LifeProof flooring is probably the best for damage resistant, water proof as well. Will take scratches and dents the best. Also cheaper per square foot. For the dungeon look tile or slate would be best visually. Does have the ability of scratches and busting easier. Also have to redo grout lines over time with wear and tear. Not as easy on the knees as the LifeProof flooring vinyl. So you have to argue visual aesthetic to practical. Pm me if you need anymore information. Depending on location I could come out and do the installation as well.
